Personalize LifePod routines

Personalizing LifePod routines can motivate your loved one or care recipient to complete daily tasks, bring them joy through humor and, in essence, make LifePod feel like an extension of your personal support and care. 

 

Try out a few helpful tips to personalize your routines:

    • Include the name of someone meaningful to your care recipient in a routine
    • Use positive reinforcement throughout the care recipient’s day
    • Differentiate the phrasing of repetitive routines
    • Sprinkle in humor, where appropriate

 

 

How do I turn text alerts on and off?

Real-time text alerts are designed to provide immediate insight into your loved one’s response to specific routines. Text alerts can be customized first by routine and then by response type.  

 

In order to opt into text alerts, confirm that the phone number associated with your LifePod  account can receive text messages and you have noted this in your profile. 

To associate a phone number that can receive texts with your LifePod account: 

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Click your name in the top right corner of the Portal 

3. Choose “My Profile 

4. Select the box “This phone can receive texts

5. Click “Update 

 


To turn on/off text alerts for an existing routine: 

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Click the “Routines” tab 

3. Select the appropriate routine by using any of these three methods: 

    • Scrolling through the routines for today  
    • Clicking the blue calendar on the Routines page to select a specific date 
    • Filtering routine types by clicking Check-Ins, Reminders or Streaming Content below the “Routines” tab 

4. Select/De-select the Text Alert box  

    • For Check-In, Streaming Content and Reminder follow-ups: select the response type for which you would like an alert 

 

 

5. Click “Save Routine 

 


To turn on text alerts for a new routine: 

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Select a sample template or click the “Create” function for the routine type 

3. Customize the necessary description, start date, time, frequency and voice prompts 

4. Select the Text Alert box  

    • For Check-In, Streaming Content and Reminder follow-ups: select the response type for which you would like to receive an alert 

 

 

5. Click “Save Routine 

 

How do I duplicate a routine?

Save time by duplicating any routine in the LifePod Caregiver Portal. This feature is helpful for activities that recur at different times throughout a day, week or month. 

 

To duplicate a routine:

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Click the “Routines” tab in the navigation bar  

3. Select the appropriate routine by using any of these three methods: 

      • Scrolling through the routines for today  
      • Clicking the blue calendar on the Routines page to select a specific date 
      • Filtering routine types by clicking Check-Ins, Reminders or Streaming Content below the “Routines” tab 

4. Hover your mouse over the desired routine and click “Duplicate 

5. Once in the routine, modify the start datetime and frequency as needed 

6. Click “Save Routine 

 

How do I use short codes in a routine?

Short codes allow you to state the current dateday of the week and time in LifePod routines. Doing so can help ground your care recipient as well as manage scheduled activities, maintain engagement and track the progress of a day, week or month. 

 

To incorporate short codes into a routine: 

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal. 

2. Edit an existing routine or create a new routine

3. Type a curly bracket “  {  “ into the desired location within the routine’s voice prompts 

4. A dropdown list appears — choose DateDay of the Week or Time 

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any additional short codes 

6. Click “Save Routine 

 

How do I play a routine on demand?

Individual routines can be played on demand through the Caregiver Portal. When a routine is played on demand, it will play immediately on your care recipient’s iHome Powered by LifePod smart speaker and can be responded to by your care recipient.

Playing routines in real time can be particularly helpful for: 

    • Introducing LifePod or a new routine to your Care Recipient 
    • Modeling how to respond to LifePod routines 

 

To play a routine on demand: 

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Click the “Routines” tab in the navigation bar  

3. Select the appropriate routine by using any of these three methods: 

      • Scrolling through the routines for today  
      • Clicking the blue calendar on the Routines page to select a specific date 
      • Filtering routine types by clicking Check-Ins, Reminders or Streaming Content below the “Routines” tab 

 4. Hover your mouse over the desired routine and click “Play on LifePod now 

 

 

How do I delete a routine?

You can delete check-ins, reminders and streaming content routines in the Caregiver Portal. Once deleted, the routine will no longer be scheduled to play nor will it display in past, current or future routine schedules.  

 

 To delete a routine:

1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal 

2. Click the “Routines” tab in the navigation bar  

3. Select the appropriate routine by using any of these three methods: 

    • Scrolling through the routines for today  
    • Clicking the blue calendar on the Routines page to select a specific date 
    • Filtering routine types by clicking Check-Ins, Reminders or Streaming Content below the “Routines” tab 

 4. Hover your mouse over the desired routine and click “Delete 

 5. Click “Yes” to confirm 

 

How do I create a streaming content routine?

Streaming Content– Easy access to online services and entertainment, including: music, news and weather

 

To create a Streaming Content routine:

  1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal
  1. Select any of the three sample Streaming Content templates or click “Create Content 
  1. Customize the Description of the routine, if necessary 
  1. Select a start date, time and frequency for the routine 
    •  If you’re creating a music Streaming Content routine, select the preferred music genre 
  1. Modify the initial question, as necessary
  1. Customize the replies given when your care recipient responds positively or negatively to the initial question. 
  1. If appropriate, select “Alert me via text” and choose the response type for which you would like to receive a real-time text message alert 
  1. Click “Save Routine

 

 

How do I create a reminder?

Reminder- A gentle prompt to help remind your care recipient of important events and activities with an optional follow-up 

To create a Reminder: 

  1. Log in to the LifePod Caregiver Portal
  1. Select any of the four sample reminder templates or click “Create Reminder 
  1. Customize the Description of the routine, if necessary 
  1. Select a start date, time and frequency for the routine 
  1. Modify the initial prompt, as necessary 
  1. Though a response is not required, you may select “Alert me via text” and choose the response type for which you would like to receive a real-time text message alert 
  1. Click “Save Routineif you do not want a follow-up or click “Perform a follow-up check-in” to confirm an event or track its progress 

 

To create a follow-up:  

  1. Click, “Perform a follow-up check-in
  1. Select a start date and time 
  1. Modify the initial question, as necessary 
  1. Customize the replies given when your care recipient responds positively or negatively to the initial question 
  1. If appropriate, select “Alert me via text” and choose the response type for which you would like to receive a real-time text message alert 
  1. Click “Save Routine
