LifePod is seeking a Head of Product, reporting to the CEO, to define and execute the future roadmap of our proactive voice, remote patient monitoring platform. You will engage customers and users to define our product vision while collaborating closely with the engineering team to define product specifications and develop critical new features.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about driving change in healthcare with LifePod’s voice-first patient engagement and caregiving platform and driven to lead all aspects of product definition and management to deliver on that vision. You also understand that success isn’t measured by how many features are shipped – but rather by the impact we achieve through engaging and delighting end users and customers by delivering breakthrough capabilities that improve their health and wellbeing.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Product will balance their time between strategic planning and hands-on execution as they play many roles in this critical function:

  • Listener
    • Lead and support voice of customer and end user research to identify key customer and end user needs
    • Survey end users about their experience with LifePod and use the data to enhance future products and services
    • Track customer and operations statistics for reporting, trends and insights
  • Evangelist
    • Become a subject matter expert on and advocate for all aspects of LifePod’s platform and services
    • Advocate for the voice of the customer and end user in product design, development and implementation
    • Communicate the product strategy to all internal and external stakeholders
    • Present LifePod’s platform and services to partners, prospects and conference audiences
  • Visionary
    • Build and communicate LifePod’s product and services vision and strategy
    • Define strategy, roadmaps and key future needs for all products
    • Prepare product and market requirements documents, customer/user personas and use cases, user experiences and journeys to support technical design and development by the engineering team
  • Leader
    • Own the company product roadmap, balancing business value priorities and the needs of customers and other stakeholders
    • Drive process to ideate, design and implement product features
    • Help guide and drive the development of LifePod’s platform expansion and new products from the initial ideation phase to product launch
    • Prepare business cases, portfolio plans/analyses and stage-gate presentations
  • Collaborator
    • Partner with LifePod team and customers (as appropriate) to identify opportunities, define solutions, develop capabilities and plan go-to-market strategies
    • Establish platform and feature pricing and sales targets with business development and marketing colleagues
    • Identify strategic partnership opportunities and work with other LifePod executives to develop, negotiate and implement these relationships
    • Work with the data and engineering teams to drive LifePod’s IP strategy
    • Participate in daily development standups and weekly sprint planning and prioritization

 

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Design and Management, Product Marketing, Engineering Development, Product Support or other client-facing roles
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare technologies and services strongly preferred, especially in telehealth, remote patient monitoring, PERS or other connected care services
  • Multiple successful launches of innovative online technology, services and software within budget and on time
  • Demonstrated track record of breaking down barriers to develop products/services that achieve high levels of customer/user satisfaction
  • Experience collaborating with talented software development teams while balancing sales and other business imperatives
  • Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams and customers

 

Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree required, technical or business management major preferred
  • MBA or other relevant Masters’ degree strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of the current healthcare landscape, including: the roles played by payors, providers and patients; how economic value is apportioned; the evolution of value- based care and risk models; and trends in digital healthcare
  • Strong understanding of smart speaker technology, automated voice service architectures, voice user interface design, speech recognition, linguistics, and speech analytics

  • English fluency required; strong command of Spanish a plus

Location/Travel

  • While LifePod is based in Boston, the location of this position is flexible. If the candidate is based remotely, they would be expected to travel to Boston at least once a month when conditions are safe to do
  • While this role is not expected to require a lot of travel (~10%), when it is safe and appropriate for business travel to resume, the successful candidate must be able to travel domestically and internationally as
